Gee
Dark times are one of the most certain aspects of life, standing proudly right next to its intimate friend Death... It's been such a long time, I actually thought I'd pay a visit to the underworld before ever writing another word worth reading again. I'm glad I'm back to it, but it wasn't really me, you know? It was Gee.
We met a long time ago, she and I, and back in those days I remember I used to think her gaze was beyond defiant... Easy to remember, I might add.
I was walking busily in the streets yesterday, with not a thought worth thinking when suddenly this girl stumbles upon my being and immediately recognizes me for someone I once was. This is shocking simply because I never even knew someone had any positive recollection of a version of mine prior to the one I am now... Or was yesterday, just in case I've changed already.
Obviously, because we had such a nice time talking about myself, I asked her if she'd like to carry on our little chat over some coffee. To my surprise she agreed, but she decided upon the place, which was only fair.
As we sat across each other, I stared into her defiant yet inviting eyes, and distracted by their charm, I almost failed to listen when she said she had always been amazed by my work... I thought it was the most curious thing she could've possibly said, and I even considered asking why she had never said anything, but ultimately it wouldn't matter, I suppose.
I told Gee I was facing some difficult times, and could hardly find any time for sleeping, let alone writing a decent paragraph...
I also said I would make an effort.
Having coffee with this girl, a long time secret fan, made me realize that not everyone who seems distant is necessarily away. Sometimes, even the most defiantly looking gaze is merely paying close attention.
